Pamela Anderson, one of the penultimate 90s babes has bestowed onto the world two distinctive visual languages of style. It appears we’ve mainly been mining our mood boards after her 90s sex symbol repertoire, the iconic fur hats, sheer printed dresses, cut crease contour makeup, body hugging tops and corsets, the long list continues. Every late night blonde cool girl has taken a dip into “Barbwire” territory at least once. With her latest collaboration RE/DONE x Pam, Pamela Anderson takes us to her other side of sexy cool, one that embraces the sun kissed Malibu beachside chill.
The new collection incorporates sustainability, embracing the reclaimed era of Pam’s most memorable aesthetic looks, this time on her own terms. Aligning with her passion for the planet and all living creatures, environmentalism was at the forefront of this women lead collaboration. The style was Malibu Sleaze meets McBling. Easy light washed denims with relax fits and sexy sculpting of the tush, whilst worn in text graphic tees with rhinestone embellishments. Deconstructed denim brought in a contemporary edge to the beachy elements.
The campaign modeled by Pamela enlisted an all-female team, including Lolita Jacobs, Java Jacobs, Lea Colombo, Katie Burnett, and Cyndle Komarovski. The results are a casual cool and playful exploration into Pam’s true playful nature. Eco chic to echo sexy utilizing recycled materials and embellished with vegan leather patches. The launch gathered friends and community including RE/DONE’s Sean Barron and Jamie Mazur as well as Reserved Magazine friend, collaborator and fellow 90s icon the conceptual photographer Ellen Von Unwerth. Vegan bites and mocktails from Sophie Dalah nourished the crowd.
