For SS24, Luis De Javier moved into a new era with his mentorship from Riccardo Tisci. Gender fluid silhouettes and bold lines spoke to the current climate of late night designer wears. The collection was inspired by the 90s Spanish rave movement call “La Rita del Bacalao”, a subculture which was shut down by an oppressive government.  The collection questioned, “what would have happened if the movement was left untouched and allowed to thrive”.

In explaining the collection Luis stated, “Fashion has always mirrored and explored socio-political issues. With this collection, we aim to reflect, question, and spark a dialogue on pressing matters, like the rise of a nationalist, far-right political party, that are affecting Spain and the world today.”

The collection was composed of latex, leather, corsetry, jersey and workwear. With the latex being sourced from LA’s BustedBrand and additional shoe covers, rubber spikes, necklaces, earrings, that were created in collaboration with Aslan World.
