Over the weekend, Philipp Plein invited select guests over to his Chateau Falcon View to view his latest creations of couture inspired red carpet ready showstoppers. Edit by the workshop of Jacob Meir, the pieces presented a vision of excess and excess and excess solidifying Plein as the King of Bling. Dimensional and specially solid the gravity defying looks made for an awesome display of the gaudy good.
Speaking with the Lord of Luxe, Philipp stated the ethos behind his brands signature, “When I started nobody with into bling people were in the minimalism era. Today I think it’s part of my DNA that what I am. I’m maximalist, I celebrate it.”
For this first jaunt at the evening wear selections, he was glad to expand on his universe of glitz. “I’ve never done red carpet I’ve never done these couture looks. I try to do fashion for everyday use. I never tried it out. And after 25 years I thought it was time for something different. I’ve known Jacob. For such a long time he is a good friend of mine, so I thought it was the right moment, especially after Covid people are going back again to events, on the red carpet. Even last year in Milan fashion week we had restrictions, we couldn’t do what we are doing today so I think it’s the right moment again.”
As the night concluded, in drove Off-Set in a Lamborghini to stunt the crowd with a few tracks as the hills mist added that additional touch of sparkle.
