BAD HUMOR
BOBBY DEAN DEMPSEY
From the star, writer, and director of award-winning Candy Apple and Deadman’s Barstool comes full steam ahead…Bad Humor! Bobby Dean Dempsey’s highly anticipated new web series skirts the edges of political correctness with irreverent and poignant social commentary for the humorist in need of a comedic respite. Akin to Chappelle’s Show and MadTv, Bad Humor possesses a no-holds-barred approach to comedy, New York City life, social issues, and cultural blasphemy.
Bad Humor was conceived under the scat-laden sky of the pandemic, a period in which for many, laughter at the situation became a means of survival. The show weaves Dempsey’s off-kilter, true story stand-up with sketches featuring him wearing many different hats…and wigs. The show confronts politics, class issues, performative social justice, and every -obia and -ism in the present-day lexicon.
Cameos of New York City’s finest characters as celebrity chefs, faces of late-night infomercials, prospective voters for an unconventional mayoral candidate, and a politically incorrect job applicants make Bad Humor not only a love letter to New York City, but also a fine-tuned scathing review. Dempsey’s style of absurdist social critique fosters the perfect space for the modern comedic curmudgeon.
Bad Humor – The Pilot episode was created, produced and directed by Bobby Dean Dempsey, and co-written by Lucillle Bignom. You can watch Bad Humor on Youtube and at badhumor.tv.
