Reserved Magazine hosted the LA film premiere of BOOM! A Film About the Sonics in Beverly Hills at the Fine Arts Theatre. After the heartfelt screening, the rowdy crowd traveled over to Harvard and Stone to indulge in Madre Mezcal cocktails as they danced to more rocking sounds from DJs Jamie Hince (The Kills), Robbie Furze (The Big Pink), and Edwina Aguayo who played a mix of classics and rarities on vinyl.

The evening would not be complete without performances from the band Broken Baby who ignited the stage and riled up the crowd. Headlining was a velvety set from Jesse Hughes of The Eagles of Death Metal, who played a set of covers inspired by The Sonics.

Directed by Jordan Albertsen, BOOM! A Film About the Sonics, chronicles the untold story of one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most wild and influential bands, The Sonics. The film delves deep into how this relatively unknown band from the Pacific Northwest grew into a global sensation—50 years after their prime—leaving a lasting impact on music for decades. With interviews from both local legends and iconic artists like Pearl Jam, The Sex Pistols, Heart, Mudhoney, and more, the film uncovers the legacy they helped shape, whether recognized at the time or not.
