Charlie Le Mindu | SKINS Couture

equal-means-equal
After a decade away from the runway, Charlie Le Mindu returns to Paris with SKINS, a collection forged through movement, performance, and an uncompromising relationship to the body. In the years since stepping back from fashion, Le Mindu’s practice expanded into opera, ballet, live performance, music videos, and editorial work, From Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo to Doja Cat’s Coachella moment, becoming a laboratory for material experimentation and physical presence. This distance from the fashion system sharpened his language and reframed his philosophy: the conversation has moved to post body positivity toward body visibility. SKINS is not about exposure, but about being fully, undeniably present.
The collection inhabits the quiet intersection of power and desire. Sexuality here is neither performative nor ornamental; it is deliberate, self-possessed, and controlled. Rooted in trichophilia, hair is elevated beyond adornment into architecture. Focused on surface, structure, and second skin, each silhouette holds tension between strength and vulnerability, intimacy and distance, rejecting softened ideals of beauty and rigid gender codes. The body is not corrected or explained, it is amplified and exists. SKINS refuses the idea that empowerment must be desexualized to be credible, insisting instead on autonomy: the right to be desired without belonging, to be soft and confrontational at once. There is always going to be a punk restraint in Charlie’s refusal to dilute the message… Just the body, telling the truth.
Material conviction underpins the collection’s emotional charge. Every look is crafted entirely from real human hair, used as both structure and surface, treated with couture precision while preserving its raw presence. Color is restrained, allowing texture and form to speak, while scent and finish complete the sensory language through a collaboration with BYREDO, whose hair perfumes and makeup deepen the work’s intimacy and memory. Revealed in partnership with Pornhub—marking its first presence at Couture Week. SKINS aligns with a shared belief in free expression and self-determined visibility. As Le Mindu frames it, this is not an image of the body, but a state of being: unedited, autonomous, and fully present.
