Proper Nights, Golden Beats

Santa Monica Proper Hotel was glowing this past weekend as Gold Sky Productions x Proper Presents brought two nights of sonic bliss to the rooftop. The crowd swayed under sunset skies to a lush DJ set by Washed Out, whose dreamy beats matched the ocean breeze perfectly. Saturday turned the volume (and nostalgia) up a notch with DJ Windows 2000, better known as Win Butler of Arcade Fire, spinning an eclectic, high-energy set that kept the dance floor moving late into the night.

Part of the Proper Presents series — a multi-sensory collaboration with Gold Sky Productions — the events blend music, movement, food, and conversation to connect guests and locals through shared rhythm and atmosphere. From rooftop rituals to chef-led tastings, each gathering channels the cultural pulse of Santa Monica’s creative coast.
